In a concerted effort to bolster public support for its advocacy concerning the West Philippine Sea, the Philippine government has joined forces with celebrity fun run organizer Coach Rio Dela Cruz to launch a series of world-class running events titled “Takbo WPS: Ang Yaman Nito Para sa Pilipino (Its natural resources are for Filipinos)” across three key cities.

A Collaborative Initiative

Organized by the National Task Force-West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) and sponsored by RunRio, the Takbo WPS fun run events will feature distances ranging from 2 kilometers to 21 kilometers.

The events are scheduled to take place in Manila on July 7, in Cebu on August 4, and in Cagayan De Oro on September 8 this year.

Coach Rio emphasized that the Takbo WPS fun run series serves as a platform to engage Filipinos and raise awareness about the significance of the country’s maritime rights and resources.
